The BIB Kit arrives at your door ready-to-use. The BIB sleeve design (using a tall kitchen trash liner), makes re-orders unnecessary. The solution and an insertion lubricant are all you need on hand to begin colon cleansing at home. Each Kit includes 4 tips that are easily sanitized and re-used (sanitation and hygiene protection requires one person per tip). Additional tips are available at $4.00 each (plus shipping and handling).

1) Prepare enema solution ~ Many ingredients can be added to enema water to increase its effectiveness in some specific manner. Coffee enemas help detoxify the liver. Flaxseed tea enemas relieve inflammation in the bowel. Bentonite, a clay water, when added to enema water assists in absorbing and mobilizing toxins from the bowel wall. Acidophilus culture taken orally is helpful in detoxifying the bowel and in building friendly bacteria. Acidophilus implants can also be inserted rectally over night.

If using a coffee or tea solution, start the brew now.

2) Sanitize and sterilize ~ We always clean the sink first, then sterilize the BIB Kit components in a clean sanitized sink.

a) Fill your sink with water and sanitizing solution.

b) You can sterilize the reservoir, tip, lid, hose, and tubing) by immersing in water using bleach (approximately 1 capful per gallon of water) or using a preferred sanitizing solution with water.

c) Scoop some of the sanitizing solution into the pail and set is on the counter so the solution can flow out the fitting.

d) Attach the hose to the fitting and allow the sanitizing solution to flow through the hose to sterilize. After the flow begins, attach the tip also to get the inside thoroughly  sanitized.

e) After sanitizing all components, rinse thoroughly.

3) Placement ~ Lift the toilet seat to the up position. Lean the board against the wall vertically for ease of leg installation. Attach the leg supports to board by twisting them into the holes. Tilt the board forward and place the hole directly on toilet. 

4) Pail Position ~ Placement of the bottom of the pail should be no more than 36" above the level of the toilet seat for optimum/gentle gravity flow. OPTIONAL: Attach the pail hanger to your wall as near to the toilet tank as possible, directly above the tank is best. The hanger screws must be attached to a stud in the wall to support the weight of the solution pail when full. Be careful to install hanger correctly and hang pail from bottom hook to insure support and avoid injury. A tall stool or shelf may be used in place of the wall mount hanger. Put the hose clamp onto the tubing as shown:

5) Adding Enema Solution ~ Secure the hose to the bucket spout using a twisting motion and close the ON/OFF clamp. Prepare enema solution of your choice (consult reference list or health care professional for solution preparation instructions). Recommended temperature for the solution is either 40° C or 100 to 102° F, slightly warmer than body temperature is comfortable. Place a thermometer inside the pail while adding solution to monitor temperature. NOTE: If using hot liquid (i.e., coffee solution), be sure to add at least 3 inches of cool water first to avoid damage to the plastic pail. Due to the weight of a full pail (approx. 30 lbs.), you may prefer to hang the pail first and pour the solution into the hanging pail in small amounts for ease of handling.

6) Insert BIB Sleeve ~ Cut the bottom seal off a tall kitchen trash bag creating a sanitary disposable sleeve or BIB. Place the BIB sleeve down into the hole so the bottom rests in the water of the toilet bowl (this also eliminates cleanup inside the bowl). Fold the top portion of the BIB sleeve like a flap over the top of the backsplash shield to keep in place. This BIB sleeve prevents the board from getting wet or soiled and virtually eliminates clean up hassle.

7) Inserting the tip ~ Using the single hole end of the proctel (rectal) tip, push the  tube through the BIB sleeve creating a snug hole, and through the clear plastic backsplash shield hole.

Attach hose to the open end of the tip on the other side of the backsplash shield.

Now the tip should be approximately 4 inches long in front of the shield for ease of rectal insertion. The rectal tip will slide easily through the shield by pulling on it or pushing on it, to place it at comfortable position for insertion.

Do NOT insert the rectal tip more than 3 inches into anus, because the distance between the anus and the bend in the bowel where the sigmoid flexure joins the rectum is only about 5 inches in most persons and less in some. Prior to lying down prime the tubing with the water solution by opening the ON/OFF clamp, to establish a good flow, removing air bubbles, then close the clamp. Lubricate the insertion tip well.

8) Lie down and relax ~ Lay on the board and position yourself on top of the BIB sleeve, and your bottom over the opening and as close to the backsplash shield as possible.  Insert the tip into the rectum (no more than 2 or 3"), using a lubricant for comfort. Rectal tip will slide back and forth easily through the hole in the shield to correct length as needed.

Valve-clamp may be opened and closed during the session to control the flow of solution. Don't expect all 4 gallons of solution to enter the colon at once, typically your colon fills with one quart or less at a time between evacuations. Bowel irrigation is designed to allow the solution to flow in, to full capacity of your colon, you will feel this as abdominal pressure. When the colon feels full, close the clamp, massage, and evacuate. Then repeat until the solution reservoir is empty. It is not imperative that the clamp be closed, since in-flow and out-flow can happen simultaneously, you're in control of the flow. However, it is not necessary and you should not strain to hold the solution in. After evacuation, if you feel any strain from the pressure of holding the rectum closed and the solution in, simply close the clamp, relax, then continue.

Massage the lower abdomen gently counterclockwise while solution is flowing in and clockwise when solution is flowing out to assist in the elimination of waste.

Healing Crisis:  If you're lucky, you may experience a healing crisis which is an acute reaction resulting from the ascendancy of Nature's healing forces over disease conditions. It is an effort on all organs to become new and strong again. Though it may feel like an illness (flu-like symptoms), it will not last long, or develop into another disease. Instead, it will bring about renewed health.

The experience of going through a healing crisis will seem very much like having an illness because of experiencing flu-like symptoms; but there is a very important distinction -- elimination. In the healing crisis, the elimination is perfect. The bowel movement is natural. All eliminative organs (skin, kidneys, lymph, bronchial, bowel) are doing their part. Right up to the time of the crisis all elimination is regular. But in the diseased state elimination usually stops or is unsatisfactory, which adds to the trouble. In the healing crisis the eliminative processes have become more acute because of the abundance of stored-up energy. Whatever catarrh and other forms of waste have been stored in the body are now in a dissolved, free-flowing state, and a cleansing, purifying process is under way.

When finished cleansing be sure to empty the bowel of solution as much as possible before getting up. The best way to do this is to massage the abdomen in a clock-wise direction while lying on your left side. Massage the abdomen starting at the ascending (lower right side) colon, up to and across the transverse (right to left), and down the descending (lower left side) colon.

9) Clean-up ~

a) Tip should be removed the same way it was installed to avoid soiling the BIB shield. To avoid soiling the shield remove the tip from the user side of the shield by pulling on it until it releases. You may have to tug on the tip to remove it, the hose is under a vacuum when the clamp is closed. Don't worry if you spill a small amount of solution onto the board as a result, as this is easily cleaned and will not contaminate the board.

b) Wash tip immediately using anti-bacterial sanitizing soap.

c) Fold the BIB sleeve and push through the hole and lift the board to vertical position.

d) Using another trash bag, lift the soiled BIB sleeve out and place it in the trash bag for disposal.

e) To dispose of evacuated waste simply flush the toilet or, when using a Free-standing BIB Kit simply pour contents of waste pail directly into the toilet and flush.

The Standard BIB Kit does not include a waste pail as it is designed to set directly on the toilet. If you purchase the Free-standing BIB Kit, a waste pail and an additional leg assembly are included. The Free-standing BIB Kit is designed to be set up anywhere, i.e., next to the bed, no need for a toilet. The sanitary BIB sleeve was designed to eliminate the need for clean-up. Using the BIB sleeve allows the waste to flow directly into the pail or toilet without making a mess either on the board, the bowl, or the pail.

10) IMPORTANT INFORMATION: One should be concerned about any adverse affect that frequent colonic irrigation would have on the electrolyte balance. Electrolyte leaching is not a good process and must be avoided. The best way to prevent this is to be absolutely certain that adequate amounts of lactobacillus organisms are reestablished in the colon. To accomplish this task, we refer to Dr. Jensen’s "Tissue Cleansing through Bowel Management, Chapter 6 entitled, INTESTINAL FLORA AND BOWEL GARDENING." (Click on the link to read the whole chapter). When the body is properly fed with good quality foods containing organic sodium, potassium and magnesium, the electrolyte level of the colon will be replenished as part of the diet. We must eat properly along with colon treatments. DO NOT OVERLOOK THIS VERY IMPORTANT ASPECT OF COLON HEALTH.

   Lay a towel on the board for comfort and be sure to place the BIB sleeve on top of the towel.

   Massage the lower abdomen gently counterclockwise while solution is flowing in and clockwise when solution is flowing out.

   Keep a small blanket or towel handy in case of chills.

   Use a folded towel or small pillow on the toilet tank for foot comfort.
